uih2009

Our primary goal of caring for others is accomplished through the servant attitude and willful support of all involved in this ministry.

Our identity in Visitation is caring for others in offering hope and comfort in/with the love of Jesus our Savior. This is always done through prayers of concern or celebration through a variety of human touchpoints: phone calls, email, in-person visits to home, hospital or hospice.

Wherever your calling is, there is a place for you:

Visiting Opportunities "In-Person"

Assisted Living: Many nursing home residents are unable to attend our church worship services. As a nursing home UIH team member you bring the personal touch of service to the shut-ins and keep them spiritually connected to our church family. You will visit the various nursing homes on a regular basis.

Hospice Care: In times of preparing for the transitioning of living into dying as well as comforting and grieving, people may alternatively turn to or away from God in moments of pain or despair. The UIH team leads our members who wish to help wounded families see God again, knowing he will comfort them and give them peace—the God who loves, forgives, and strengthens them.

Hospitals: The hospital visitation ensures that individuals from our church who are hospitalized for surgery, injury, or illness (or those related to the church through past contact, relatives of church members etc.), have a visit from someone on the UIH team during their hospital stay or recovery time at home, following hospitalization. This is a way to show that we care for one another and to touch another person with the love of Christ through empathetic listening and sincere prayer.

In-Home: Many individuals in our church family are limited by age, disability, or illness which affects their ability to participate in the ongoing life of our church. Our desire is to communicate by our UIH team our love and concern for these homebound persons with personal visits from the members of our congregation.
