Why We Are Here? As our general church membership has grown, so has our Senior Adult membership. When churches grow in numbers, often the emphasis is placed on children, youth, and young families and Senior Adults can be overlooked.
We believe, however, that our Senior Adults have laid a wonderful foundation of experience and wisdom that our younger members can build upon. Our SAMS (Senior Adult Ministries) group is an active and vital part of our church family.
We communicate with our Senior Adults through regular e-mails as well as our Monday phone message service, “Senior Moments with Steve.” This is a great way to get important information to our Senior Adults who may not have computer access.
Be sure to check out pictures from recent events on the GUMC Shutterfly site...

Ways Our Seniors Serve - Our Senior Adults are always looking for ways to be involved in the life of the church and the community. Some of the ways our Senior Adults are serving are:
~Serving at the church’s Welcome Center desk throughout the week to greet guests;
~Helping with the church newsletters or other general mailings (fold, sort, stuff & mail);
~Serving dinner on Wednesday nights to our church family and/or assisting with clean-up.
~Greeting our guests for worship and special events (GUMC Preschool Registration, Election Day, etc.)
~Reading to children in a mentor program at Lovin Elementary school. “Well done,” good and faithful servants.
