Our Music Ministry offers opportunities to sing at any age level and ability. Our choirs meet at various times throughout the week and in addition to preparing music for a variety of worship services and programs, assist all participants in developing their God-given talents.

Children: Ages 3 - 5th Grade

Hosanna Choir (Grades 1 -5) - Our school-age children’s choir learns and sings a variety of song styles geared to young voices including traditional children’s songs, hymns, and praise choruses. This choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. during the school year. Special emphasis is placed on moving the developing voice toward adolescence while teaching basic musicianship and good singing. A children’s choir musical is presented in the spring.

SonShine Choir (Preschool Age) - Our preschool children’s choir rehearses at the same time as the Hosanna Choir on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. both together and separately. These young singers are just discovering their voices and good singing skills are introduced with lots of hand and body motions that make learning music fun.

Play & Praise (GUMC Preschool) - This group of 3, 4, and 5 year olds meets one afternoon a week at the conclusion of our morning preschool. Their curriculum teaches God’s truths using easily-learned songs, hand and body motions, hand bells, and musical instruments.

ATTITUDE 423 (Grades 6-12) – Our middle and high school youth combine for music & worship each Sunday afternoon at 4:23 p.m.

 This group sings age-appropriate contemporary praise and worship songs as they develop their vocal skills and prepare to lead others in worship, both here and on the summer music/ministry tour.

 Emphasis is based on developing vocal talents along with their spiritual growth through music. In addition, several of our student instrumentalists and singers periodically assist with congregational worship in our contemporary 9:39 a.m. service.

 The group consists of keyboard, guitar, drums, and vocalists and rehearses with ATTITUDE 423 in preparation for our summer music/ministry tour. Participation is by audition.

 

Chancel Choir - Our Chancel Choir is a group of adult volunteers who lead congregational worship in our traditional 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services in addition to special seasonal music programs.

This choir sings a variety of musical styles and genres from classical to contemporary. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights in the choir room at 7:00 p.m.
